Song and music fulfill their function as signs in a manner all the more significant when they are “more closely connected . . . with the liturgical action, according to three principal criteria: beauty expressive of prayer, the unanimous participation of the assembly at the designated moments, and the solemn character of the celebration. In this way they participate in the purpose of the liturgical words and actions: the glory of God and the sanctification of the faithful”   ~ Catechism of the Catholic Church (1157)

The Music Ministry provides the “song and music” for our weekend liturgies and special celebrations.  All parishioners are invited to participate.

We currently have three very talented musicians providing accompaniment to our congregational singing. Our many thanks to Joan Koehne, Bobbi Carlson and Karen Suemnick for sharing their expertise!   We would love to add more musicians to our crew, though. If you play an instrument such as a guitar, the piano or organ, we need you!  If you play the flute, violin, trumpet, cello or any other musical instrument, we’d love to hear from you, too!  To sign up as one of our musicians, please call the Parish Office at (920) 822-5255. Provide our parish secretary with your name and phone number. Barb Kimme will be contacting you.

If you are feeling shy about performing at Mass, Joan, Bobbi, Karen and Barb would be happy to mentor you and help you gain confidence.  Even if you start out by playing one song, you’ve made a beautiful contribution to our worship.

Bobbi Carlson has also agreed to give organ lessons to any pianist who is willing to learn. Singers, we welcome you to the choir loft!  We do not hold auditions; just come upstairs at the beginning of Mass. We prefer that children be at least 10 years old.  Teenagers, please sing with us!   Any choir rehearsals typically occur immediately after the Sunday 9 a.m. Mass. We occasionally have an evening rehearsal before Christmas or Easter.
