As an act of faith in the present, with a spirit of hope for the future, and as a grateful gesture of love for the blessings of the past, we strive to be a parish community committed to Stewardship. Everything we are and have comes from God. Our challenge as Christian Stewards is to make good use of these gifts. Practicing Christian Stewardship involves sharing with those in need, offering them our God-given time, talent and financial assistance as an act of thanks to God for His gifts.
Instead of Church Dues, (as everyone’s income, family situations and the like are different), we contribute a percentage of our income to the Church according to our ability with 2 ½ % as a basic norm. Our Sunday envelopes guide us in translating the percentage of income that we have chosen to return to God into dollars and cents. Our Stewardship then is a Way of Life. It is a way of returning to God a portion of the time, talent and treasure that He has allotted to us – a wonderful way of thanking God for all His blessings!
These monies are to be turned over to the parish treasury. Amounts given in excess of the established fees may be retained by the officiating priest or deacon.
