The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process through which adults are fully initiated into the Catholic faith community. During this process, a close-knit community takes new members into itself by sharing its most valuable experiences over a period of time, ending with a fully accepted new member at the Easter Vigil. This process includes 4 periods of formation: Precatechumenated (an informal introduction to the Catholic community, a time of prayer and discussion designed to help an individual make a decision about entering the Catechumenate. Catechumenate (is a specific period during which an intellectual understanding of the faith is presented). Enlightenment (is a period of intense spiritual preparation). And Mystagogia (is a period of reflection on full membership in the Church). These 4 periods are separated by major liturgical rites or stages.
Any adult who has never been baptized, OR baptized in another church and is interested in joining the Catholic Church, OR baptized a Catholic but never received the other sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation or Confirmation, this journey is for you. Please contact the rectory (822-5255).
